This is my 'go to' and favorite place to get Chinese food in Norfolk, VA. My food is always delicious and the portions are large. You will definitely have leftovers for the next day. Owners are friendly and pleasant. The restaurant was closed during the summer months, while they were away on vacation. During their absence, I didn't eat at any other Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is located across the street from Booker T. Washington High School. It is a busy and transient area, so the restaurant stays pretty busy. I usually call ahead, so my food is ready when I arrive.
Food is always good! My favorites are chicken wings with shrimp fried rice (extra shrimp/extra onion) & the chicken teriyaki with shrimp fried rice (extra shrimp/extra onion).
For years I've been coming to Golden City they have the best fried rice in all of Norfolk. I always take some back to Maryland with me! Great customer service as well.
Hands down one of the best Chinese spots in the area! For me to give 5 stars and they forgot my fried rice with my egg foo young...is a lot! Thankfully they gave enough rice with the other entrees that I was able to use some of theirs! If you are looking for that ole school, Toy'sun from back in the days (iykyk) give them a try! Friendly service, hot and efficient! One of my favorites!!
